Versions prior to 2.0.0-beta.2 allowed expansion of ${file:...} references in .prompty frontmatter without restricting resolved paths to the prompt directory or allowed roots. This flaw enabled attackers to read arbitrary local files via absolute paths, directory traversal sequences, or symlink escapes. The issue is fixed starting from version 2.0.0-beta.2. The vulnerability has a high severity score of 7.5 and does not require privileges or user interaction to exploit.
