CVE-2026-53779: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') in webp-sh webp_server_goCVE-2026-53779 0 WebP Server Go versions prior to 0.15.0 contain a path traversal vulnerability on Windows. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary files outside the intended IMG_PATH directory by exploiting how percent-encoded backslashes bypass path sanitization. The vulnerability arises from a mismatch between Go's path normalization, which only considers forward slashes, and Windows file system APIs that treat backslashes and forward slashes equivalently.
