CVE-2026-53937: CWE-400: Uncontrolled Resource Consumption in modelcontextprotocol io.modelcontextprotocol:kotlin-sdkCVE-2026-53937 0 CVE-2026-53937 is a denial of service vulnerability in the MCP Kotlin SDK (io.modelcontextprotocol:kotlin-sdk) versions 0.7.0 through 0.12.0. The issue arises because the ReadBuffer.append method writes incoming byte chunks into an unbounded buffer without size limits, only extracting frames when a newline byte is received. An attacker can exploit this by streaming bytes without newlines, causing the buffer to grow indefinitely and ultimately leading to an out-of-memory condition that crashes the JVM or host process. This vulnerability affects scenarios where the SDK stdio server's stdin is fed by untrusted or attacker-controlled input. The issue is fixed in version 0.13.0.
