CVE-2026-53938: CWE-122: Heap-based Buffer Overflow in OpenIDC cjoseCVE-2026-53938
0

A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the OpenIDC cjose library prior to version 0.6.2.5. The flaw occurs in the JWE decryption path for AES Key Wrap algorithms when the length of the attacker-supplied encrypted key is not validated before unwrapping. This can lead to heap corruption and potentially a denial of service or further memory corruption. The vulnerability can be triggered remotely without authentication by submitting a crafted JWE. A patch is available in version 0.6.2.5. If immediate upgrade is not possible, rejecting AES Key Wrap algorithms for untrusted JWEs is recommended.
