0 CVE-2026-54703 is a vulnerability in the vscode-markdown-preview-enhanced extension for Visual Studio Code. Versions prior to 0.8.30 allow an attacker to write arbitrary files on the user's system by exploiting the _crossnote.updateMarkdown command, which accepts an arbitrary URI and content without validating the target file. This can lead to overwriting user configuration, startup, source, or build files if the attacker can execute JavaScript in the preview webview. The vulnerability requires prior JavaScript execution in the webview through other weaknesses. It is fixed in version 0.8.30.
