A flaw was found in odh-dashboard in Red Hat Openshift AI. This vulnerability in the `odh-dashboard` component of Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHOAI) allows for the disclosure of Kubernetes Service Account tokens through a NodeJS endpoint. A vulnerability (CVE-2026-5483) exists in the odh-dashboard component of Red Hat OpenShift AI 2.16 that permits disclosure of Kubernetes Service Account tokens through a NodeJS endpoint. This flaw could allow an attacker with network access to the endpoint to obtain sensitive tokens, leading to unauthorized access to Kubernetes resources. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 8.5, indicating high severity with network attack vector, high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and requiring low privileges but high attack complexity. Red Hat has issued security advisories RHSA-2026:7397 and RHSA-2026:7398 with updated container images for OpenShift AI 2.16.4 and 2.25.4 respectively. Release of RHOAI 2.16.4 provides these changes:

CVE-2026-5483 is a vulnerability in the odh-dashboard component of Red Hat OpenShift AI that allows disclosure of Kubernetes Service Account tokens through the NIM serving API endpoint (/api/nim-serving/:nimResource). The endpoint returns the full Kubernetes client response including the dashboard's service account token, which could be exploited by an authenticated user to access Kubernetes resources unauthorizedly. Exploitation requires authenticated access to the dashboard and the existence of the NIM account Custom Resource on the cluster (for versions 2.25+). If the secret referenced by the Account CR is not created, the endpoint returns a 404 without leaking tokens. The vulnerability is tracked under CWE-201 (Insertion of Sensitive Information Into Sent Data).
