0 electron-updater allows for automatic updates for Electron apps. Prior to 26.15.0, AppImage targets built by app-builder-lib could use an empty path component when setting the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable at runtime. This causes the current working directory to be added to the dynamic linker search path, which may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code by placing a malicious shared library in the directory from which the AppImage is launched. This issue has been fixed in version 26.15.0. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 07/07/2026, 00:00:00 UTC Added: 06/30/2026, 22:36:34 UTC |
0 extract-zip does not validate symlink targets when extracting zip archives. When processing a malicious zip file containing a symlink with a relative path like '../../../../etc/passwd', extract-zip will extract the symlink without validation, allowing it to point outside the extraction directory. Depending on how extract-zip is used, an attacker could read or write to arbitrary files. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 06/26/2026, 18:34:00 UTC Added: 06/26/2026, 17:21:53 UTC |
