0 CVE-2026-57173 is a resource allocation vulnerability in vllm versions prior to 0.24.0 affecting the audio input handling in the /v1/chat/completions endpoint. An unauthenticated attacker can submit a small compressed audio input that decompresses into a large memory allocation, causing an out-of-memory crash of the worker process. This occurs because the audio decoder does not enforce the maximum audio decode duration limit in this code path. The issue is fixed in version 0.24.0.
