The Image Optimizer plugin for WordPress (elemntor) up to version 1.7.4 is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient path validation in its backup removal function. Authenticated users with Author-level access can manipulate backup file paths via post meta fields and cause deletion of arbitrary files on the server when deleting attachments. This vulnerability can lead to denial of service, data loss, or security degradation.
