0 NATS Server versions prior to 2.14.1 and 2.12.9 contain a vulnerability where an MQTT client can inject protocol control characters in subscription filters. These characters are forwarded as NATS protocol data to route or leafnode connections, corrupting the protocol stream and allowing injection of unintended NATS commands. 0 NATS Server versions prior to 2.14.3 and 2.12.12 contain a vulnerability where MQTT retained message delivery and QoS1+ durable replay can bypass subscribe deny filters. This occurs because these delivery paths do not consistently recheck the original topic against deny rules before sending messages to subscribers. The issue allows delivery of messages that should have been blocked by subscription deny rules. A fix is available in versions 2.14.3 and 2.12.12. NATS Server is a high-performance server for NATS.io, the cloud and edge native messaging system. Prior to 2.14.1 and 2.12.9, an MQTT client could include protocol control characters in subscription filters that were later forwarded as NATS protocol data to route or leafnode connections, corrupting the forwarded protocol stream and allowing injection of unintended NATS protocol operations.
