CVE-2026-58659: Use of Externally-Controlled Input to Select Classes or Code ('Unsafe Reflection') in Lightning-AI pytorch-lightningCVE-2026-58659 0 PyTorch Lightning versions up to and including 2.6.5 contain a remote code execution vulnerability in the _load_state function. This vulnerability arises because the function imports and executes module names controlled by an attacker from checkpoint _instantiator hyperparameters. Malicious checkpoint files can bypass weights_only=True protections, allowing arbitrary code execution when LightningModule.load_from_checkpoint is called. The vulnerability has a high severity with a CVSS score of 8.4. No official patch or remediation guidance is currently provided.
