Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed in the openexr library used by SUSE. These include various out-of-bounds reads and writes, use-after-free conditions, and undefined behavior triggered by processing specially crafted EXR image files with certain malformed attributes or data windows. The issues affect both tiled and scanline EXR files and impact 32-bit/ILP32 builds as well. These vulnerabilities can lead to crashes or memory corruption.

An integer overflow vulnerability exists in AcademySoftwareFoundation's OpenEXR library versions 3.1.0 through 3.2.10, 3.3.0 through 3.3.12, and 3.4.0 through 3.4.13. The overflow occurs during decoding of crafted deep tiled EXR files, leading to a crash due to an invalid memory read. This issue is fixed in versions 3.2.11, 3.3.13, and 3.4.14.
