A critical stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Fluent Bit versions from 0.11.0 up to but not including 5.0.8. The flaw occurs in the secure_forward_pong function of the out_forward plugin, where a server-controlled PONG reason is copied into a fixed-size stack buffer without proper length or type checks. This can lead to stack corruption and potentially remote code execution if the build lacks stack canaries or if certain conditions are met. The issue is resolved in version 5.0.8.
