CVE-2026-61788 is a high-severity vulnerability in bytebase's dbhub prior to version 0.22.6. The issue arises because setting the execute_sql tool to readonly does not enforce read-only connections as intended. This allows certain SQL statements with side effects to bypass the read-only check, enabling sequence tampering and, with privileged roles, arbitrary file writes, file reads, and remote code execution. The vulnerable HTTP endpoint is unauthenticated and exposed to any network caller. Version 0.22.6 includes a patch for this vulnerability.
