Axelor Open Platform versions 8.0.0 prior to 8.2.2 contain an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows authenticated non-admin users to escalate privileges. This occurs due to unenforced field restrictions on nested relational save operations, enabling attackers to modify sensitive User record fields such as roles and groups. The vulnerability bypasses the USER_RESTRICTED_FIELDS control and causes the JPA persistence layer to commit attacker-supplied admin role and group assignments.
