CVE-2026-63293: CWE-59 Improper Link Resolution Before File Access ('Link Following') in Canonical LXDCVE-2026-63293 0 CVE-2026-63293 is a critical vulnerability in Canonical's LXD container management system that allows an attacker to perform arbitrary file read and write operations on the host. The flaw arises because LXD does not validate whether the metadata.yaml file in an imported or unpacked image archive is a symbolic link. An attacker can craft an image archive with a symlinked metadata.yaml pointing to sensitive host files, enabling unauthorized access and modification.
