NLTK versions prior to 3.10.0 contain a high-severity arbitrary local file read vulnerability in the StreamBackedCorpusView component. This flaw allows attackers who can control the fileid argument to bypass the pathsec.ENFORCE security mechanism by invoking builtins.open() directly instead of pathsec.open(). As a result, attackers can read arbitrary local files, including sensitive system files and application credentials, without requiring privileges or user interaction.
