A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's AK8975 magnetometer driver could lead to potential kernel stack memory leaks. The issue arises when the function i2c_smbus_read_i2c_block_data_or_emulated() returns fewer bytes than expected, leaving uninitialized bytes in the buffer that may be passed to IIO buffers and potentially leaked to userspace. This vulnerability has been addressed by adding checks on the return value of the function to ensure buffer integrity and distinguish error codes.
