CVE-2026-72508 is a critical vulnerability in the multicloud-operators-subscription component of Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (RHACM) for Kubernetes 2.11. It allows a namespace-admin tenant to perform a confused-deputy attack by creating Subscription Custom Resources that leverage a highly privileged ServiceAccount. This enables deployment of arbitrary cluster-scoped resources, leading to privilege escalation and potential arbitrary code execution across the cluster. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 9.9, indicating critical severity. Red Hat has released security advisories and updated container images in later versions, including 2.17.1, which address this and other vulnerabilities. Users are advised to apply these updates following Red Hat's guidance.
