A path traversal vulnerability exists in all versions of mustafaakin/cast-localvideo. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this flaw to read arbitrary files on the server by supplying a crafted directory path to the vulnerable handler in app.js. This occurs because the user input is passed directly to res.sendFile() without proper sanitization, allowing directory traversal sequences such as ../ to access sensitive files. 0 A path traversal vulnerability in mustafaakin cast-localvideo allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read arbitrary files from the server. The vulnerability arises because the application passes the user-supplied directory parameter directly to a file-sending function without sanitization, enabling directory traversal attacks. This can lead to exposure of sensitive system files. No patch or official remediation has been confirmed yet.
