CVE-2026-72783: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') in craftcms cmsCVE-2026-72783 0 Craft CMS versions starting from 5.0.0-RC1 up to but not including 5.10.6, and from 4.0.0-RC1 up to but not including 4.18.2, contain a theoretical path traversal vulnerability in the ensurePathIsContained function of the Local file system class. The vulnerability arises because the path validation occurs before normalization, which can invalidate the validation assumptions and potentially allow paths outside the intended directory. The vendor states this issue is not directly exploitable and no exploit scenario has been found. The fix is recommended as a hardening measure.
