CVE-2026-73042: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting') in siyuan-note siyuanCVE-2026-73042
0

CVE-2026-73042 is a critical cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in SiYuan note-taking software versions before 3.7.4. The flaw arises from improper escaping of database menu metadata during HTML generation, allowing attackers to inject malicious scripts via field descriptions or names. This can lead to arbitrary code execution when users interact with group, view, or field-edit menus. The vulnerability is exacerbated by Electron's insecure configuration, enabling access to Node.js built-in modules.
