CVE-2026-73260 is a high-severity vulnerability in the cesanta mongoose embedded web server and network library. Versions prior to 7.23 have a flaw in the built-in TLS certificate parser where a long-form DER element length is not properly verified against the remaining certificate buffer. This can lead to an out-of-bounds read during TLS handshake when interacting with a malicious TLS server or a client certificate. The issue causes denial of service by advancing the parser beyond the certificate buffer and reading invalid memory. The vulnerability is fixed in version 7.23.
