CVE-2026-74244: Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature in Red Hat Red Hat OpenShift Update ServiceCVE-2026-74244
0

CVE-2026-74244 is a medium severity vulnerability in Red Hat Quay's Stripe billing webhook handler. It allows unauthenticated attackers to forge billing events by sending crafted JSON requests to the /webhooks/stripe endpoint without validating the Stripe-Signature header. Exploitation can reset a namespace's build quota to its maximum and trigger unsolicited billing emails to namespace administrators. The vulnerability exists even if the billing feature is disabled, though impact is reduced in self-hosted deployments using FakeStripe. No official patch or fix is currently confirmed by Red Hat. Mitigation involves restricting network access to the /webhooks/stripe endpoint to trusted Stripe IP addresses or blocking it if Stripe billing is not used.
