0 CVE-2026-74871 is a vulnerability in jahlives openssl_encrypt versions before 1.4.6 involving a key derivation flaw. The flaw occurs in the sequential XOR composition mode where the last stage cancels out during key generation. This allows attackers to bypass memory-hard key derivation when configured with a single KDF and no prior hashing stage, enabling offline password cracking at the speed of SHA-256 rather than the intended KDF cost.
