0 SiYuan note-taking software versions before 3.7.4 contain a critical cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the file-tree picker's hover-tooltip generation. The vulnerability arises because document metadata fields are concatenated into an HTML attribute without proper escaping, allowing injection of arbitrary HTML attributes and inline event handlers. Due to the Electron environment's configuration (nodeIntegration:true, contextIsolation:false, no CSP), this XSS can escalate to arbitrary OS command execution when a user hovers over a malicious document entry. The vulnerability affects local installations and can be triggered via shared, synced, or imported malicious documents.
