The build process downloads and executes a script from a remote source without verifying its authenticity or integrity. This script can access sensitive credentials such as GitHub tokens and registry passwords, potentially allowing a remote attacker to inject malicious code and compromise the build environment and resulting operator bundle. No official fix or mitigation currently meets Red Hat's criteria for ease of use, applicability, or stability.
