CVE-2026-76291 is a high-severity vulnerability in Splunk Enterprise that affects versions prior to 10.4.4, 10.2.8, 10.0.11, and 9.4.16. It allows users with the schedule_search capability to bypass safeguards in the scheduled search workflow and execute risky Search Processing Language (SPL) commands. These commands can disclose or alter data or disrupt the availability of Splunk Enterprise. The root cause is that the search scheduler does not apply SPL safeguards to scheduled searches as expected.
