A user with the "power" role can inject malicious scripts into dashboard sparkline format options, which execute in the browsers of other users viewing the dashboard. If the victim user has the "admin" role, the script could access sensitive data and perform actions with their permissions. Exploitation requires tricking the victim into initiating a request in their browser. The vulnerability arises from insufficient input neutralization and lack of escaping tooltip values in Splunk Web dashboards.
