CVE-2026-76578: Missing Authentication for Critical Function in Red Hat Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10CVE-2026-76578
0

CVE-2026-76578 is a critical vulnerability in FreeIPA on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 that allows unauthenticated LDAP clients to gain administrative privileges. The flaw arises because the self-managed OTP token Access Control Information (ACI) does not require authentication and does not restrict attribute additions. Exploiting this, an attacker can create an arbitrary Kerberos principal and add it to the administrators group, enabling full administrative control over the directory and related IdM services. This vulnerability requires no credentials or user interaction and affects default FreeIPA installations exposing LDAP to untrusted networks.
