A protection mechanism failure in 0xJacky's nginx-ui allows authenticated users to bypass configuration validation when writing nginx config files via the MCP tool nginx_config_add. This flaw exists in versions from 2.0.0-rc.6 up to but not including 2.4.1. The REST API correctly validates config files, but the MCP tool does not, enabling attackers to insert dangerous directives. On servers with certain nginx modules loaded, this can lead to remote code execution. The issue is fixed in version 2.4.1.
