CVE-2026-84942: CWE-79 Improper neutralization of input during web page generation ('cross-site scripting') in AWS Amazon OpenSearch ServiceCVE-2026-84942 0 CVE-2026-84942 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Vega expression function implementation of OpenSearch Dashboards. It allows a remote authenticated user with dashboard write permissions to execute arbitrary JavaScript in other users' browser sessions by saving a crafted Vega visualization. The issue affects multiple versions of OpenSearch Dashboards and Amazon OpenSearch Service. AWS has released fixes for affected versions and manages remediation for the cloud service.
