CVE-2026-85725 is a timing discrepancy vulnerability in HKUDS LightRAG versions prior to 1.5.5. The vulnerability arises from the use of Python's == operator to compare plaintext passwords, which returns after the first mismatching byte, causing observable response-time differences. An attacker with low-latency network access can exploit this timing oracle to recover passwords character by character. Deployments using bcrypt-prefixed passwords are not affected. The issue is fixed in version 1.5.5. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 09/22/2026, 16:16:36 UTC Added: 09/22/2026, 16:33:28 UTC |
