CVE-2026-8596: CWE-312 Cleartext storage of sensitive information in Amazon SageMaker Python SDK AWSCVE-2026-8596
0

CVE-2026-8596 is a high-severity vulnerability in Amazon SageMaker Python SDK versions before v2. 257. 2 and v3 before v3. 8. 0. It involves cleartext storage of the HMAC signing key within the ModelBuilder/Serve component. Authenticated users with permissions to call SageMaker describe APIs and write access to the model artifact path in S3 can extract this key and forge integrity signatures, potentially leading to code execution within inference containers. AWS has released patched versions and recommends upgrading and rebuilding affected models. This vulnerability affects the cloud-hosted AWS SageMaker service.
