CVE-2026-86476 is a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the gst-plugins-base component of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. It occurs when video buffers with GstVideoMeta metadata specify plane strides and offsets exceeding the actual memory allocation, without proper range checks during deserialization. A local attacker controlling the sending side of a GStreamer IPC pipeline can exploit this to cause out-of-bounds memory access. Exploitation may lead to denial of service or potentially arbitrary code execution within the affected process.
