0 CVE-2026-89091 is a high-severity vulnerability in Red Hat Migration Toolkit for Applications 8 related to improper link resolution during collection installation with ansible-galaxy. The archive extractor uses lexical path normalization instead of resolving symbolic links and lacks containment checks on symlink directories. This flaw allows crafted tarballs to write files outside the intended directory, enabling arbitrary file overwrite and potential code execution with the privileges of the user running ansible-galaxy. This vulnerability bypasses a previous fix (CVE-2020-10691). Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 10/08/2026, 21:49:30 UTC Added: 10/08/2026, 22:04:14 UTC |
