0 CVE-2026-89321 is a medium severity vulnerability in Eclipse OpenVSX affecting versions from 0.20.0 up to but not including 1.2.0. It involves improper handling of highly compressed VSIX extension files, allowing a publisher to upload a small compressed file that decompresses to a very large size on the server. This leads to excessive disk usage on the temporary filesystem, potentially causing it to fill up and resulting in service errors such as HTTP 500 responses and failed publishing attempts. The vulnerability can be triggered without authentication on extraction requests, though uploading requires authentication.
