CVE-2026-90947 is a high-severity vulnerability in GIMP's Lighting Effects filter on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. It involves an out-of-bounds write caused by improper validation of the number of light sources in a specially crafted lighting preset file. Exploitation requires a user to open a malicious preset file, which can lead to memory corruption, application crash, or potentially arbitrary code execution.
