0 OpenEye Apex Network Video Recorder (NVR) firmware version 3.2.9.376 contains a vulnerability in its administrator password-reset unlock-code mechanism. The design lacks a per-device secret or server-side cryptographic material, allowing an attacker with physical console access and privileged workflow access to forge a valid unlock code offline. This enables resetting the administrator password without authorization. The issue has existed since at least firmware 2.2.3.4. An upgrade to version 3.5.4 is recommended.
