0 CVE-2026-96612 is a path traversal vulnerability in hexpm hex affecting versions from 0.6.0 up to but not including 2.5.2. It allows a malicious package publisher to delete directories outside the intended deps directory and extract package files there when a developer fetches dependencies. This occurs because hex uses an unvalidated app label from the signed registry as the dependency's application name, which can be manipulated to traverse directories. The vulnerability is triggered during dependency fetching before compilation. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 10/12/2026, 15:39:49 UTC Added: 10/12/2026, 15:49:04 UTC |
