A high-severity out-of-bounds write vulnerability exists in the Pillow Python imaging library versions 9.4.0 through 12.x. The flaw occurs in the JPEG encoding function when handling ICC profiles that exactly fill the 65536-byte encoder buffer, allowing an attacker-controlled comment and image data to overwrite adjacent heap memory. This can cause crashes and potentially enable code execution. The issue is fixed in version 13.0.0. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 10/21/2026, 20:58:24 UTC Added: 10/21/2026, 21:17:30 UTC |
