CVE-2026-9756: CWE-79 Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting') in edge22 GenerateBlocksCVE-2026-9756 0 GenerateBlocks, a WordPress plugin by edge22, is affected by a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Headline Block's linkMetaFieldType dynamic link attribute. This vulnerability exists in all versions up to and including 2.2.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. Authenticated users with contributor-level access or higher can inject malicious JavaScript payloads that execute when other users view the affected pages. The attack leverages the ability to store JavaScript in user profile descriptions and prepend it via the vulnerable attribute, enabling execution without user interaction beyond clicking the link.
