CVE-2026-97876 is a vulnerability in GNU grub2 affecting versions from 2.12 up to but not including 2.16. It allows a local attacker with control over GRUB's configuration to bypass Secure Boot lockdown restrictions and load unsigned GRUB modules. The issue arises from insufficient validation of the MMIO base address passed to the GRUB serial command, enabling an attacker to manipulate memory and disable module verification.
