CVE-2026-9864 is a vulnerability in Fortra Core Privileged Access Manager (BoKS) affecting the adjoin utility. It involves the use of a cryptographically weak pseudo-random number generator (PRNG) for machine-account password generation during Active Directory join or password renewal. This weakness results in passwords with significantly less entropy than intended, potentially allowing attackers to predict passwords if they can estimate the generation time. The vulnerability affects versions 8.1.0.0 through 8.1.0.29 and 9.0.0.0 through 9.0.0.5. The CVSS score is 4.8, indicating medium severity. No known exploits or patches are currently reported.
