In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: tap: set skb->dev before parsing virtio net header in tap_get_user_xdp()… (CVE-2026-74684)CVE-2026-74684

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's tap network driver was fixed by ensuring the skb->dev field is assigned before parsing the virtio net header in tap_get_user_xdp(). Without this fix, a NULL pointer dereference could occur, causing a kernel crash when processing certain virtio-net headers with protocol set to zero. The issue was addressed by reordering the assignment of skb->dev to match the safe sequence used in tap_get_user().
