A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's coreboot firmware driver allowed improper validation of table bounds, potentially causing memory outside the intended resource to be mapped and parsed. This was due to insufficient checks on the size and extent of firmware tables, which could be malformed to trigger overflows or out-of-bounds memory access. The issue has been resolved by adding stricter validation of resource length and table extents before mapping.
