Gitea: Release attachment extension allowlist bypass via web release edit form (variant of CVE-2025-68939) (CVE-2026-58428)CVE-2026-58428 0 Gitea versions prior to 1.27.0 contain a vulnerability in the web release edit form that allows users with repository write permissions to rename release attachments to file extensions that are normally disallowed by the operator-configured allowlist. This bypass occurs because the web handler for editing releases does not validate attachment file extensions against the allowed types before updating the database, unlike the API endpoint which enforces this check. The issue enables bypassing the configured release attachment extension restrictions via the web interface.
