In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen/gntdev: fix error handling in ioctl When gntdev_ioctl_map_grant_ref() fails… (CVE-2026-72138)CVE-2026-72138 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's xen/gntdev component involved improper error handling in the ioctl operation gntdev_ioctl_map_grant_ref(). When copying the operation result back to userspace failed after successfully adding a mapping, the error path did not release a reference, causing a memory leak and a dangling list entry. Additionally, the index returned to userspace could be incorrect due to modifications during mapping addition. The issue was fixed by properly handling all error cases, holding the mutex during critical operations, and cleaning up on failure.
