A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Ceph client was resolved involving unbounded processing of delegated inode intervals in ceph_parse_deleg_inos(). A malicious or compromised Ceph Metadata Server (MDS) could previously cause the client to spin indefinitely or consume excessive memory by sending large or duplicate delegated inode intervals. The fix introduces a per-session cap on delegated inode counts and limits the aggregate interval length per reply to prevent unbounded resource consumption.
