The issue occurred because __skb_flow_dissect() assumed the presence of a valid Ethernet header and unconditionally read 12 bytes from it, which is not always valid, especially for TUN devices in L3 mode. This could lead to uninitialized memory being used as a key in packet classification, potentially causing unpredictable behavior. The fix ensures the device type is checked before reading Ethernet addresses, preventing this unsafe memory access.
